Purpose The 1964 Wilderness Act and the 1978 BWCA Wilderness Act provide goals for overall wilderness management. The BWCAW Management Plan establishes standards and guidelines and a schedule for implementing a program of work. The Superior National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan sets the overall direction for the Superior National Forest. This BWCAW Management Plan tiers to the Forest Plan.
