Purpose	The purpose and benefits of the plan include: providing basic resource data and information regarding the tax-forfeited resource; providing a basis for improved management coordination and cooperation with other public agencies and the forest industry; promoting continuity of management in the event of personnel changes; identifying the needs and opportunities associated with management of tax-forfeited land; providing a means of involving other disciplines, interest groups and the public in decisions relating to the tax-forfeited resource; providing documentation of department responsibilities and policies to provide information for management purposes and to facilitate decision-making; setting management direction to promote good stewardship of county-administered land; and providing a basis for public policy commentary on county Land and Forestry Department policy.
